sheesh, i just lazed through another sunday. I've tried to wake up early in the morning for a jog, but for some reason the car show across the street in my neighbourhood shopping center is playing kenny g music!!! sheesh sorry i have to blame them for that! cause i went back to sleep with the soothing melody~~.
I then woke up at around 11am, watched a movie i downloaded (opps again), the pursuit of happiness, a real nice down-to-earth movie. The film is about this black guy who is going through the darkest time of his life, poor, in-debt stuck, with a bad job and his wife eventually left him. This then made him very pessimistic in life.
Maybe happiness is something that we can only pursuit, maybe we can actually never had it no matter what.
But in the end he never give up, single handedly take care of his son, at the same time studying in a stock brokers company without getting any pay, and sell off his medical devices products as part time sales man to maintain a living. Despite of all the difficulties, he never give up on this pursuit of happiness.
Dont ever let somebody tell you, you cant do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you got to protect it. People cant do something themselves, they will be telling you, you cant do it. If you want something, go and get it.
A rather simple and clean storyline, not much cg, not a fabulous graphics movie, but the down-to-earth plot just simply touched the hearts of us, the commoners. We are just normal people who are not born with a silver spoon in our mouth, none of us are extra-ordinary people. But we all have a common process in life, the pursuit of happiness.
We are lucky enough that most of us, wont suffer a fate like the story, even if we failed in our career we wont end up broke, chased out of our flat sleeping in church and children home. Because we still have our relatives, our family living in the same country as us.
Nevertheless this movie still inspired me alot. We are all on the pursuit for our own happiness, regardless the path we took might differ, regardless the goal we define might not be the same, but its still a route that we are all going through. Never give up on the way, happiness is our dream that we must protect ourselves.
